Mobile Technology Storage Causing HIPAA Violations
As people, our daily lives revolve around technology so much that we sometimes are obvious to some of the downfalls associated with its use. The increasing adaptability and reasonable affordability is allowing [medical] facilities to use mobile technology such as cell phones, tablets, and other similar devices on a daily basis. While these devices often help to make the on-duty staffers’ job easier and more efficient, there can also be drawbacks. For instance, lack of compatibility with [patient] record systems, to lack of protection such as encryption possibly allowing data theft.
